2/ Health and Safety Awareness (SARA 1) - 1 Day

This one-day course has been specifically designed to provide you with an overview of the health and safety management involved in television production work. Roles and responsibilities in H&S management are clarified and you will also be made aware of further sources of help and information.

This course is part of the industry recognised Production Safety Passport (PSP) scheme – on completion of the course you will receive a Health and Safety Passport.

FIRST AID TRAINING

 

3/ First Aid At Work (FAW) - 3 Days

A three-day course that complies with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice L74 guidelines for the qualification of workplace First Aiders. On successful completion each individual will be certified as a First Aider for 3 years

4/ Health and safety Executive Approved
First Aid At Work Refresher - 2 Days

This course is open to qualified First Aiders at Work who need to update their training. You must have a valid First Aid at Work certificate issued by any approved training organisation - including voluntary societies.

5/ Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW) - 1 Day

A one-day, non-assessed course, recommended by the Health and Safety Executive in their Approved codes of Practice L74 as the minimum level of first aid training for people in low-risk workplace environments.

6/ Travel Safety Awareness - 2 Days

ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFIC TRAINING

 

7/ JUNGLE

The Jungle is Neutral” one of the toughest places in the world to film and requires the individual to have a full understanding of the practicalities of working and living in this hazardous and challenging environment. Course content includes prevention of various conditions such as heat illness and vector borne disease through to additional planning considerations of living and filming in a jungle.

8/ COLD WEATHER AND MOUNTAIN

“There is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing” Extreme rapidly changing conditions will require a crew who are prepared and aware of the requirements of the environment they wish to film in. Hazards such as frostbite, hypothermia and altitude sickness require individual awareness and the correct selection of specialist equipment.

10/ CONFLICT MANAGEMENT, CONFLICT RESOLUTION (CMCR)

The Health and Safety Executive's definition of work-related violence is: 'any incident in which a person is abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances relating to their work'. Verbal abuse and threats are the most common types of incident. Filming contentious content can place members of your crew at risk from both verbal and physical violence. CMCR training enables the individual to spot the warning signs and implement effective strategies to extract their selves safely from a dangerous situation.
